Draft an Athlete and Help Unite the World

2,000 student-athletes from around the World will unite in Toronto from May 14-17, 2019 in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the global movement at the inaugural Special Olympics Ontario Invitational Youth Games. For the first time ever, high school athletes with an intellectual disability will have the opportunity to experience the transformative power of sport through international age-appropriate quality competition.

Through the Draft an Athlete program, supporters of the Games can help fund an athlete or team realize their dreams of competing on the world stage. For just $1,000 per athlete, 100% of your donation will be helping to fund each athlete’s travel, accommodation, food, and competition costs. Individuals, groups of friends, or corporations can choose to draft an athlete or team.

The true impact of your donation will be felt by the athlete whose life will be forever changed by the skills, friendships, and confidence they develop through the exciting experience of international competition.

How it Works

Our goal is to DRAFT all 2,000 Special Olympics athletes competing in the 2019 Invitational Youth Games.  Draft an Athlete or Draft a Team and challenge your network to do the same, individually or collectively.  Together, we can change the world through sport and shift the narrative from disability to ability.
